Description: Opal is a very sweet, cuddly girl who would love to be your lap buddy! She is smart, affectionate and loves to explore outside. She is a quick learner, is comfortable in a crate and often puts herself there on her own for naps. Her ideal home is with a quiet, older family who have a fenced yard and no other pets. She is a homebody and doesn't like to stray far from home. Having her own yard and her own lap would be her dream. Opal has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations. She is good with children but would prefer older calmer children rather than toddlers. Opal had a bad experience with a big dog when she was a young puppy and is now fearful around big dogs and dogs she doesn't know. In her own home, she is a dream dog and will give you all the love and affection you could ever want. On walks, she is uncomfortable and barky if dogs get closer than 10-15 feet from her but we are working on it and there has been improvement in this area. She can now sit and have dogs walk around her without reacting if she is focused on me. She is learning to sit and watch without reacting and can approach bigger dogs that she is familiar with without a negative response. She would be the perfect dog for a stay at home family with a yard that she could enjoy without sharing it with other dogs.
